Jocelyn Johnstone

Jocelyn loves words and is great with them!

Her career has focused on them - as a newspaper journalist, freelance feature writer, publications editor and communications expert.

Jocelyn has also helped prepare some of the new generation of young journalists by teaching for a time at the NZ Broadcasting School.

She has intimate knowledge of the health sector, having previously spent two and a half years in the communications team at the Canterbury District Health Board, where she was acting communications manager for six months. Jocelyn’s strong interest in health is carried over to her own lifestyle with interests centred on enjoying the outdoors by playing tennis and visiting the beach. Food, music, arts, theatre and not-for-profit are among her other areas of expertise.

Jocelyn’s way with words extends to the spoken version – she’s a qualified speech teacher, so well suited to help with speech writing and sharpening public speaking skills, while she also presents lively seminars on working effectively with the media.
